Finance Bill 2012
In mid-2011, HM Treasury and HMRC entered into consultations regarding the tax policies announced at Budget 2011, some of which were addressed in the recent Autumn Statement.
Reflecting the new approach to tax policy, Finance Bill 2012 was published yesteday. This introduces draft legislation in relation to policy and consultations broadly issued at the time of the previous budget.
As expected, it includes draft legislation around CFC’s, changes to the non domicile regime and the recently announced seed investment scheme. The tenor reflects the government desire to make the UK tax competitive and includes measures aimed at increasing inward investment.
